I just got back from an amazing conference at Harvard Medical School on Consciousness: Science, Spirituality, & Social Impact.

There were all kinds of talks ranging from physics, neurology, microbiome, conscious leadership, integrative medicine, ecology and more.

Never did I imagine seeing yogis, physicists*, and neuroscientists on a panel together at Harvard med!

While it was an awesome experience, I have to admit that I was dreading the long flights and busy days….and navigating meals because I’ve been making some dietary changes for health reasons.

When I was a student in Boston, I survived on Chipotle and Panera since both of those were right outside my student housing.

If you live in California, you know that we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to nutritious food. So I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to stick to my nutrition plan while traveling.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.

Some things that helped me were:

✓ Using the MyFitnessPal app to track

✓ Being clear on my goals

✓ Maintaining flexibility with food choices – after all, this is a lifestyle choice, not a prison sentence. (I love the 80/20 rule here)

Now the holidays are coming up and that comes with its own nutritional challenges, not unlike traveling.

Next week, our nutritionist, Ailar Poormoghaddam, and I are doing an Instagram Live on Food and Mood Over The Holidays.
