About
So much suffering comes from more than our stressors — it comes from our resistance to what is. Resistance shows up as self-judgment, or as attempts to fix, avoid, or change our experience. Increasing our self-compassion and decreasing that resistance gives us room to navigate the challenges that are simply part of life. One of my favorite things about being a therapist is helping clients connect to their inner healing potential — I see my role as facilitating the growth, healing, and thriving of which all humans are capable.
My clinical approach is shaped by my own life experience and personal journey through therapy; as someone who “walks the walk,” most of the tools and practices I use are part of my own practice. Rather than treating a symptom or diagnosis, I emphasize treating the person in front of me. Together we identify which accumulated beliefs align with your idealized self and which to reframe, drawing on CBT, DBT, mindfulness, self-compassion, and psychodynamic therapy in a trauma-informed, non-judgmental, non-pathologizing space. I strongly value rapport and trust — our relationship is the “safe container” the work requires — and because most therapy happens between sessions, we’ll build a realistic plan to keep you accountable.
I take a holistic view, considering lifestyle factors — sleep, a balanced diet, movement, mindfulness, social connection, and connection to the natural world — that can influence your healing. I specialize in working with people navigating trauma-related issues and challenges around boundaries and self-care, which often affect their closest relationships, and I welcome individuals or couples who haven’t benefited from previous therapy. I pride myself on tailoring solutions to each client and creating an environment where growth can happen.
