I was in NYC at theSkimm studio in 2022 speaking at a sleep event and one of the organizers said to me, “If I could change careers right now, I would become a sleep influencer.”

[Side note: I had to overcome some major public speaking phobia to participate in that event! But I’ll tell you more about that another time…]

I get why she said that. More people than ever are recognizing the importance of sleep and want to learn how to optimize it.

So here’s your 3-2-1 sleep tip:

3️⃣No heavy food or alcohol 3 hours before bed
2️⃣No work 2 hours before bed
1️⃣No interactive screen time 1 hour before bed (i.e. social media, texting, etc. TV is okay because it’s more passive…but stay away from the true crime dramas at bedtime)

And a bonus fun fact: Humans are the only animal known to willingly delay sleep.

Everybody has to sleep.

So when you’re struggling with sleep disturbances, it affects every aspect of your life, from your energy levels, to your mental and physical health.

The good news is that there are a lot of things that can be done to optimize your sleep quality.

Try the above tips to start with.
